Amherstburg Tall Ships and Dockside Festival Highlights Aug 30 to Sept. 1, 2013


Ships Ahoy – the time has come! This weekend marks the last stop on the “Tall Ships Challenge-Great Lakes 2013” tour before the epic re-enactment of the Battle of Lake Erie takes place in Put-In Bay, Ohio. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday Amherstburg and the surrounding area will play host to 8 Tall Ships with an array of dockside festivities and deck tours.

Tall Ships 1812 replica’s, Friends Goodwill and Lynx will be the featured ships docked in Kings Navy Yard Park, Amherstburg; at one time an official ship building port during the War of 1812.

Public Deck Tours

Friday, August 30                  12pm to 5 pm

Saturday, August 31             10 am to 5 pm

Sunday, September 1          10 am to 5 pm

 

-        $15 for weekend pass

-        $5 for individual port pass; children 5 and under free

“This is a great weekend to come out and enjoy one last hurrah before the summer is over. We’ve got a great line up of activities and of course the stars of the show will be the Tall Ships side by side. The crew can’t wait to meet everyone!” says Anne Rota; Manager of Tourism and Culture.
